ClariDX is a spin out from King's College London, founded by a multidisciplinary team of engineers and clinicians with a shared mission: to bring earlier, faster, and more objective guidance for cancer detection.

Research shows that cancer leaves a common molecular and structural signature in tissue, one that recurs across different organs. Our platform reads this signature in real-time, without removing tissue, and interprets it with intelligent analysis.

Oral cancer is our lead market, where the need is urgent and the regulatory path is clear. The same core platform is designed to scale across the body, giving clinicians earlier answers and more confident decisions while easing pressure on health systems.

The unmet clinical need

Unmet clinical need in cancer care

Despite decades of advances in cancer care, most cancers are still detected too late, often only after symptoms appear and through invasive, costly, and inefficient clinical pathways. As global cancer incidence continues to rise, healthcare systems face mounting clinical and economic pressure.

Today's standard of care relies heavily on the visual examination of tissue by pathologists using microscopy. While this approach has saved countless lives, it is fundamentally limited by human interpretation.

Subtle molecular changes that precede visible disease can remain undetected, accuracy can vary between observers, and obtaining definitive results requires invasive biopsies, labour intensive workflows, and days or weeks of processing. For patients, this often means prolonged uncertainty at one of the most critical moments in their care.

The next generation of oncology requires precision guidance that goes beyond what the human eye can see. By measuring objective biological signatures at the molecular level, precision technologies can enable earlier, more accurate detection, reduce unnecessary procedures, accelerate clinical decision making, lower healthcare costs, and ultimately improve survival and quality of life.

Our Platform

One signature, many cancers

Our patented platform combines advanced optical sensing with intelligent analysis to detect cancer at its earliest and most treatable stages, before visible changes or clinical symptoms appear.

The science rests on a simple insight backed by evidence: as healthy tissue turns cancerous it shifts its molecular makeup in consistent ways, and those shifts leave a recognisable optical signature. In peer reviewed studies this signature holds across different organs, which is what makes the platform generalisable rather than tied to a single site.

Designed together with patients and clinicians, our platform delivers rapid, objective insight without disrupting routine practice. It requires no tissue removal, minimises patient discomfort, and produces consistent, reproducible results across users and care settings.

Magnus Jensen, PhD

CEO & Cofounder

Magnus earned his MSc from the University of Southern Denmark and his PhD in Biomedical Optics from King's College London. An award winning entrepreneur, he is recipient of the Spinout Denmark Award and the LIHE Best Innovation Award. With a background spanning photonic technologies, AI, and clinical translation, Magnus leads the company's vision, strategy, and commercial growth.

Mads S Bergholt

Mads S Bergholt, PhD

CTO & Cofounder

Mads is Associate Professor (Reader) in Biophotonics at King's College London, Head of the Label Free Bioimaging Laboratory, and Director of the Fibre Optic Manufacturing Facility. He serves on King's Academic Board and has secured over £6M in competitive research funding, authored more than 65 peer reviewed publications, and holds multiple commercialised patents in healthcare technologies.

Richard is Professor of Diagnostic Technologies and Honorary Consultant in Oral Medicine, and Director of the Oral Clinical Research Unit at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital.
